Know some last minute expert tips to ace JEE Advanced!

Following months of hard work, about 2,50,000 aspirants will appear for the JEE Advanced exam on 3rd October, 2021. These students will compete with the aim of realising their dream of studying at the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

IIT Kharagpur will be the designated authority to conduct the exam this year. With barely a few weeks for arguably the toughest exam in the country, it is not unusual for students to experience anxiety and stress. Even the best minds are vulnerable to extreme levels of stress as the exam approaches.

“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”

Keeping in mind the fast-approaching date to JEE Advanced, it is imperative to have a clear plan before you. A well-planned schedule is of utmost importance before you head into the final couple of weeks. Plan out your daily schedule and ensure that you follow them religiously.

The preparation for JEE Advanced is a relay and not a sprint. Hence, it is advisable not to study new topics beginning now. Instead, strengthen your basics and revise the topics that you are well versed in, a fundamental that Toppr has emphasized since its inception.

The Advanced exam is all about understanding and applying concepts. Strengthening the basic concepts is the ultimate hack while preparing for JEE Advanced. Moreover, self-prepared short notes, if any, should be used to help speeden the revision process.

Practice makes perfect!

Practice as many previous years’ question papers and mock tests as you can. Additionally, one must not miss out on the mock tests that are uploaded on the official website of JEE Advanced. These tests will help students familiarise themselves with the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode of the exam. Toppr’s Live Doubts feature will be beneficial to get your doubts resolved during any time of the day (or night)!

Get yourself accustomed to the exam environment while attempting mock exams. To elaborate further, students should attempt mocks during the official hours of the JEE Advanced exam, i.e. paper 1 between 9 am to 12 pm and paper 2 between 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Apart from testing their concepts and knowledge, students should also learn the art of time management by attempting several mock tests.

Get your admit card printed as soon as it is uploaded on the official website. It would be in the best interest of every student to visit the study centre a week before the exam to familiarise oneself with the location and understand the modes of travel. This helps in avoiding any last-minute glitch.

Trust the process

Apart from maintaining and following a proper study time table, students are expected to be in the prime of their physical and mental health. To ensure this, one must include meditation in their daily routine. A healthy diet is of utmost importance and should not be neglected upon.

It is imperative to maintain a proper sleep cycle during the final few days of the exam. Students who have a habit of studying until late in the night should mend their schedule and align better with the exam schedule.

Maintaining an optimum level of motivation is among the top priorities for any JEE Advanced aspirant. Be it your parents, or someone you idolise in the world, interact with people who believe in you and your ability to crack the exam. Staying away from people who can expose you to negative vibes is the bare minimum one should do.

To sum it up, trust your efforts and believe in yourself!
